At Forget me Not we pride ourselves on the projects we work with within our community. The Nursery as a whole gets involved with charity's we support. We also have a presence in our community and you can often see us out and about, whether that be us doing a traffic survey, visiting the local shops, post office or a trip to our local Park.

We are proud to support The Riley Foundation charity, who provide non-referral access to state of the art Sensory and Integration facilities for children and adults with Autism and varying levels of Special Educational Needs initially with their Sensory Bus project and now their almost completed Autism Therapy Centre.

The Sensory Bus visits the Nursery once a month on a different day each month for all of the children to enjoy, whatever their age. The Bus encourages discovery and independent thinking, as well as inspiring imagination and creativity.

Food bank donations

Each term at Forget me Not we choose a Food Bank and arrange a donation of non perishable food items and personal hygiene through our parents, families and friends. We all get involved with the children mostly doing the organising! We also take collections from the wider community which we personally deliver at Christmas, Spring and Autumn.
Involving the children with these donations enriches their knowledge and understanding of the world and the wider community around them.
The children gain such a positive experience giving back to those who need it the most, strengthening their bonds to the differences in families.
This teaches them gratitude, empathy and has also proven to encourage kindness through their play and own experiences.

Our Senior Friends

We feel very lucky to be across the road from a Residential Home which the children love to visit and see their "old friends". We do craft activities together as well as sing lots of familiar songs. This supports a whole wealth of understanding of growth and change with our children as well as providing an amazing opportunity for both age groups to communicate. It is a thoroughly enjoyed morning for everyone.
